Wine has crossthreads into almost every country and culture. It is a massive topic to write about. I imagine it's a little like trying to paint the Grand Canyon on a grain of rice. I spend most of my working hours making wine in Oregon - cleaning, crushing, cleaning, tasting, pressing, cleaning, filtering, cleaning, tasting, racking, cleaning, tasting, cleaning, bottling, cleaning, labeling, cleaning, and most importantly selling. I spend the test of my time enjoying wine, either in printed, verbal or liquid form. In the following pages I try to blend some literary goo with technical stew in an effort to entertain as well as educate.
